Early September in Kyoto still carries the warmth of summer — the air was humid, the sun strong, and gentle showers came and went. Yet, on this special day, the rain softened just enough to allow the ceremony to unfold beautifully, surrounded by elegance, tradition, and quiet intimacy.

This wedding was especially meaningful: an Italian couple chose not to marry in their home country, where the Vatican itself stands, but to hold a Catholic ceremony in Japan, within a charming church in Kyoto. The officiating bishop, an Italian who has lived in Japan for many years, led the Mass with deep warmth — blending Catholic traditions with subtle touches of Japanese culture and respect. The result was a ceremony filled with peace, sincerity, and an unspoken sense of connection between the two cultures.

The couple themselves embodied this harmony perfectly. Graceful and calm, they carried a serene presence reminiscent of Japan — yet, once surrounded by family and friends, their joyful Italian spirit shone through. Laughter, emotion, and affectionate gestures filled the air, turning the day into a celebration of life and love.

One unforgettable moment came during the group photos. Though no one had planned it, the guests’ colorful attire naturally formed a stunning gradient of hues. Everyone noticed — and with cheerful enthusiasm, they lined up to create a “rainbow of joy.” It was such a beautiful, spontaneous reflection of Italian warmth and togetherness.

We feel truly honored that they chose Japan — and Kyoto — as the place to celebrate such a meaningful milestone in their lives. It was a day where two cultures, two traditions, and two hearts met in perfect harmony.
